How can I get area and density information of all objects on a certain layer?
To create a density rule in L-Edit, you must first create a derived layer that defines the input layer for which the density will be calculated and the boundary layer. In the Derivation tab for the derived layer, set the Derivation type to Density and fill in the Density of layer and Inside polygons of layer fields with the appropriate layers. If Cell Extent is used for the Inside polygons of layer field, then the density of the input layer inside the minimum bounding box of the cell will be calculated. Please refer to Chapter 10 of the L-Edit user’s guide for details regarding Density Layer Derivations. Once a derived layer is created, create a Standard DRC rule with Density as rule type. The density derived layer must be entered into the Layer 1 field for the DRC rule. Please refer to Chapter 23 of the L-Edit user guide for more details on Standard DRC density rules. Similarly, a derived layer with the Derivation Type set to Area can be created. The Area option in the Derivation tab
