buy a router, and set the router to assign you a static IP. unless you are talking about a static boradcast IP, in which case you will want to call the ISP and set that up with them. Oh, and if you want to do multiple computers, I recommend getting a switch and setting it up so that all the computers on your network are feeding into the switch, and THAT is feeding into the modem. you can configure the ports so that any outgoing requests get sent to port1 where the modem is, and will therefore be sent out to the internet. you could do it with a router as well…but a switch is easier.
