A. NIGMS funds predoctoral fellowships to enable individuals who are members of minority groups that are underrepresented in biomedical research to obtain graduate research training. Awards are conditional upon acceptance into an approved Ph.D., combined M.D.-Ph.D., or other combined professional-Ph.D. degree program in the biomedical sciences.
