How can I get a job on an airline?
This all depends on where you are going to college. I am in college right now working part time for a regional airline. Southwest Airlines will NOT hire part time for a flight attendant. They offer very few part time positions for baggage handling and ticket counter agents, and they expect you to work around their schedule, they will not work around your school schedule. I work at an out-station, where most employees are part time. The airline was short handed and was very willing to work around my school schedule. I have been with them for almost 9 months as a station agent and have had no problem balancing school and my job. I also got full travel benefits from the first day I started. My advice is to go out to the airport that is located nearest your school and talk with the manager/supervisor of each airline and get to know whether they are hiring and if they are willing to work around your school schedule. You don’t want any surprises when and if you get hired.
