How can I get a felony expunged in Texas?

Felonies commited after you are an adult are never “expunged”. You can petition the governor for a pardon, however, even if you get one, the convictions will remain on your NCIS record forever. As such, they will appear on any background check for the rest of your life. As long as you are not applying for government or law enforcement jobs, I recommend this: when asked, say no. If your job doesn’t require a security clearance, it’s not likely that your potential employer is going to spend the money to do a background check. Good ones aren’t cheap. Just keep yourself low-profile, and it will not be an issue. Stay away from jobs that handle cash or kids.
