If a patron wants to order a book that is available at a department library (on a shelf) to the Main Library, he/she should consult an employee at the circulations office. Ordering is chargeable (1€/item), and further, loans between Tampere and Hämeenlinna cost 1,5€/item. You should not make requests online to books that are available, that is, that are on shelves – neither at a department library nor at the Main Library – because somebody else is bound to find the book in the shelf and will borrow it in spite of the reservation on it. It is more reliable to obtain the requested book by phoning the circulation offices at the department in question. It will be fetched from the shelf for a small charge (1€/item) and reserved for the patron. Requests that have been made online for available books we cannot deliver to the patron.
