How can i generate biogas from poultry dropping?
The first link below is an interesting article of a successful biogas project that was done in Minnesota. The second link has more info about the process of biomass/gas generation. I could go into a long explanation here, but I’lll just let you read the links as they sufficiently describe the process. In addition to animal waste, methane gas can also be collected from human waste, and from landfill waste. A bi-product of treating wastewater is methane. Most wastewater treatment facilities in the US just burn the gas off on site. It is becoming more of a common practice to collect this methane gas and use it for energy. I am currently working an expansion to an existing wastewater treatment facility where we will be installing infrastructure so that this methane can be collected rather than just burned off, as it is currently. Landfills also produce methane gas as the refuse decomposes. This methane can be collected by installing perforated pipe within the landfill. The City of Fargo No
