First please make sure you really do need to format your drive, all your information drivers and programmes will be lost if you format your drive. 1. Backup all your files you want to keep to DVD or USB or another drive. 2. make sure you have windows XP FULL cd not upgrade unless you have win98 a well. 3. Make sure you have all the drivers you need. 4. Get a win 98 boot disk (floppy) or put it on a USB if you can boot from that. Boot disks are available from www.bootdisk.com 5. Ensure your first bootable device is either the floppy or USB drive which ever one you are going to use, you can do this through the Bios menu, usually by pressing delete when the computer boots.
