How can I flash the BIOS of my PC using TopTools?
TopTools Device Manager lets you update the BIOS of multiple PCs remotely. But the capability of TopTools for Desktops Agent to update the BIOS of the local PC is also useful, and simpler than using the system diskette method. This feature is available only in the DMI Agent, not the WMI version. To use it, first download from the HP Vectra or Kayak support web site the “TopTools” version of the BIOS, then extract the files to some directory on your hard disk. Next, left-click on the TopTools tray icon, select the Update tab, type in your BIOS password, enter the path to the BIOS files, click on the button “Transfer BIOS Package”, then restart your PC. The PC will restart twice sequentially, do not attempt to log in while the process is still ongoing.
