Depending on what you are serving the dip with, you could consider a few different things: Serve plain French onion dip but only homemade and only the very best ingredients. Paying attention to each ingredient really does up the wow factor on food. Or you could start with traditional sour cream dip with a soup packet, or some you bought prepared, and add mix-ins. You could mince up some scallions in it….or add some Vidalia onion, a really unique flavor. You could add cheese: grated parmesan or shredded cheddar, or stir in some brie or bleu, or melt in some velveeta. You could add green food coloring! You could add a different seasoning ingredient, like minced black olive, capers, jalepenos, or bacon, or whatever. It would be a big twist.
