How can I fix the grey / black screen in 3D preview?

To check which graphic card/chip controller is used by your system, please refer to Question 12. First, you need to make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed on your computer. You don’t have to worry about this if you are running Windows XP because you are likely to have version 8.1 or higher installed on your system already, unless you are using a laptop. Go to Windows Start menu, select Run… and type dxdiag and press ‘OK’. This launches that DirectX Diagnostic Tool window.
