How can I find out how much comic books are worth?

Two common sources are the Overstreet Comic Book Guide and Wizard magazine. The Overstreet Guide costs about $20, is released annually (the next edition is due on April 7) and is VERY complete and thorough. Available in bookstores and comic stores. (You might be able to find last year’s guide cheaply…) Wizard magazine is available monthly at comic shops and newstands, and lists prices also, but due to space constraints, it only prints prices for the most commonly sold and traded comics. While these will give you the widely-accepted values for certain comics, you won’t discover their true value until you try to sell them. Some stores buy at “50% of guide” or some other percentage. The simplest answer, of course, to “How much are they worth?” is “How much is someone else willing to pay?
