How can I find out how far along my pregnancy is without knowing when my last period was?
You should talk to your midwife about possibly being a month off with your dates since it can affect your pregnancy. Your midwife should be able to arrange a blood test which will show how much of the pregnancy hormone HCG is in your system. Since this hormone doubles every 48 hours and doesn’t peak until around 14-15 weeks you should have a pretty accurate result of how far along you are. If this doesn’t work then you can always ask for an early dating scan and if one is available they will give it to you. An ultrasound is much more accurate in the earlier weeks than in later weeks.
