How can i find information on ancient Greeces democracy?
There have been written thousands of books on Ancient Greece and its democracy. Also you may see several opinions expressed by professors that not always agree between them. Assuming that you are interested in the ancient Greece’s democracy as political system I enclose some bibliography that I know it is good: 1. Gustave Glotz, “La cite Grecque”, Editions Albin Michel, Paris 1953 (this is the original edition, I assume it will have been translated in English – i have read it in Greek – search for it, it is a full review on how the city – state operated during the years of democracy and not only. 2. R.K.Sinclair, “Democracy and Participation in Athens”,Cambridge University Press, 1988 3. Jacqueline de Romilly has written several books on Ancient Greece and Democracy, even specialized books on women wrights on birth, wedding etc For starting I would suggest these books although there are a lot more that are excellent.
