How can I extract a flat image from a spherical panorama?

This is done by converting the panorama to rectilinear projection. The process is nearly identical to defishing (see previous question) and the same limitations apply. Assuming your panorama is a 360 x 180 degree equirectangular image, proceed as follows: • Start a new PTGui project • Add the panorama image using the Load Images button • If the Lens Data (EXIF) dialog pops up, cancel it • In the Project Assistant, deselect the ‘Automatic (use EXIF)’ checkbox • Choose ‘Lens type: equirectangular’ and ‘Hor. Field of View: 360’ • Open to the Panorama Editor window by pressing Ctrl+E (Windows) or Cmd+E (Mac) • Switch to rectilinear panorama projection by clicking the green rectangle shaped button in the Panorama Editor • Adjust the sliders until you get the desired field of view. The image can be dragged around in the Panorama Editor to modify its perspective. Asymmetric cropping is possible by dragging yellow crop lines from the edges of the panorama in the Panorama Editor. • In the PTGui
