How can I explain the representation of femininity from one characters perspective in Shakespeares Twelfth Night?

Answer Hi Georgia, The way to explain a character’s perspective on the representation of femininity is to read the text several times and look at what each of the characters have to say about femininity and how they act regarding women. Orsino’s point of view is certainly different from Viola’s, whose is certainly different from Olivia’s, etc. Pick one of them and read the play with that in mind. Mark each place where they indicate how they feel about femininity, how they feel about women, how they think about the role of women, etc. See if you can find a general perspective, a viewpoint that epitomizes their opinion. I can’t do this for you, Georgia. I make it a practice never to do anyone’s homework for them. It doesn’t help you and it doesn’t help your teacher evaluate whether you have read and understood the play. But this isn’t as hard an assignment as it may seem. The answers are all in the play. It’s only up to you to find them.
