How can I encourage my Senegal parrot to chew her perches?
I’d suggest starting by giving her the perches as a toy to play with, not as a perch. Once she gets used to the idea of chewing on or playing with the perches, then you can reattach them to the cage as perches. Hopefully when you attach them to the cage again it will add a new level of mystery for her as the perches are no longer free for her to move around. If your parrot has a favourite food that can be spread, you could also try putting a bit of that on the perches say some peanut butter or something.
