How can I enable the learner to become independent in their language use and learning skills?
EAL pupils need to become increasingly independent as learners, able to draw upon a wide range of learning strategies. Support for EAL pupils in the mainstream classroom should incorporate strategies to encourage the progressive independence of the pupil, equipping them with appropriate learning and study skills.
