I’m a writer and frequently try this–in fact, it’s been a long time since I even considered writing a book from only one character’s point of view. Obviously no one can tell you how to write your own characters, but there are some things that I’ve noticed help make it more effective. Decide on a unique voice for each character. If one of them is very eloquent and you write them in very “educated” prose, your style when writing the other one can be more laid back and informal. They should be different enough for each to stand out in the reader’s mind, but avoid the cliche of making them blatant opposites. Like, if one character just said how much he/she loves to go camping, and the other says in their very next segment how much they hate it, it can be effective maybe once or twice but don’t overdo it in favor of making one stand out from the other.
