Tutorials and help files are not always that helpful. I haven’t used the online help but have versions 1.2 and 1.3 and still can’t find a “clear selection” icon. You’re not getting any result because by clearing the selection there is nothing highlighted to edit. Try it this way. You don’t need to copy, paste or cut. Just use the “trim” function from the edit menu. # Highlight the section you want to keep. (By zooming in and hovering the cursor over the ends of the highlighted section until a hand appears you will be able to adjust the length of the chosen section more accurately) # Go to “Edit” and click “Trim”. The ends will be trimmed off leaving just your chosen section. Play it back to check it. If not quite right use ctrl+z to undo the change, re-adjust and trim again. When you’re happy with the result export, name and save the file via the file menu. If you haven’t got the Lame codec on your computer you will need it to encode and save to mp3.
