How can I dye my hair blue without it turning green?
Depends on the dye – some are red based blue dyes so would fade to a paler blue or purple/lilac shade and some are green based blues so would fade to an aqua or similar colour. Some blues however just fade to lighter blue with no hint of green or red – it may be trial and error which shade/brand works best for you. If you dont like it fading to green then stay away from any aqua shades of blue as these almost always go to a greeny colour over time. WIth vegetable dyes you can also mix together colours from the same brand so you can maybe create your own shade of blue without using any green dyes. If you are using a vegetable dye then go for it 😀 They are not permanent and normally easy to get rid of so if you dont like it you can fade it quicker and re-dye over the top. Blue is a hard colour to maintain and generally fades quicker than red based colours – blue also often works best on a very pale lemon or white base colour. Examples of Blue Hair Dye Photos:
It’s kind of tough. When you bleach you’re hair it opens up all of the folicles which makes it almost impossible to retain any color. I’m sure there is some hardcore indsutrial dye stuff that would do the trick. How I was able to do it was by bleaching my hair, dyeing it blue right after, and then dyeing it blue again the second it started to fade. It held till it grew out. That worked for me. Might work for you too. =) Mine faded to grey the first time I dyed it blue.
