How can I differentiate between a fake Rudraksha and the original?
For this use an eyeglass to assess the physical appearance of a Rudraksha bead. If it has well-defined corns and contours, deep linings running straight and parallel to each other from upper part to the lower part and bight shape, then it is an original Rudraksha. If there are markings of serpent, trishul, lingam etc carved on them, then u must know that this is the fake one. Another easy way is place the bead in boiling water and then let it remain there for 20 to 30 minutes. If Rudraksha is not original, then its faces are seen tempered and shall come off as the glue like fevicol. Originality of Rudraksha can also be verified by examining it in a laboratory for its chemical composition.
