How can I determine why the Java compiler complains about instructions I type when they look like they are exactly the same as in the text?
A. Please see FAQ 23 about the meaning of “exactly the same”. Then recognize that each of the Tutorials in the text has a Completed Application source listing at the end of the chapter. Using the line numbers and the syntax error message as a general guide, compare what you have typed that the compiler is complaining about with what it should be.
