If you’re talking about a Windows or Office update, about the only safe way is to uninstall it through Add or Remove Programs. But be very sure you don’t want it, like, it’s causing you major problems. In Windows XP: 1. Click the Start->Control Panel menu item. 2. Click Add or Remove Programs. 3. When the list box finishes filling, look for the update you want. If it’s not in the list, check the Show Updates checkbox at the top of the window and press the F5 key to look again. 4. Click the Remove button for the update. In Windows Vista: 1. Click the Windows Button->Control Panel. 2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program. 3. Continue as in Step 3, above. Hope that helps.
