How can I dehydrate fruit without using a dehyrator or the oven?

You can get those really fine screens (they have some in the air conditioner department) and place the fruit between two of them and that will allow air to circulate in and around them. Just make sure it is in a dry place or you will get mold instead. Another thing to think about is cool dehydration. I saw it on Alton Brown and tried it myself. You can get those air conditioner filters (the cotton ones with ridges) and place the fruit/meat into the grooves. Then you can somehow attach them (I use bungee cords) to a large fan and turn it on medium and allow it to cool dry. This prevents the fruit/meat from actually cooking but only dehydrating which makes it still chewy instead of hard.
