How can I defish a fisheye image in PTGui?
A fisheye lens distorts images such that straight lines become curved. Removing this distortion is typically called ‘defishing’. Please note that it is not necessary to defish images prior to stitching, PTGui can perfectly handle fisheye source images. Defishing is done by converting from fisheye projection to rectilinear (‘flat’) projection. A single image can be defished in PTGui as follows: • Start a new PTGui project • Add the fisheye image using the Load Images button • Make sure that the lens type is set to Circular or Fullframe. For circular fisheye lenses also check the Crop tab and ensure that the cropping circle matches the fisheye image circle. • Open to the Panorama Editor window by pressing Ctrl+E (Windows) or Cmd+E (Mac) • Switch to rectilinear panorama projection by clicking the green rectangle shaped button in the Panorama Editor • Adjust the sliders until you get the desired field of view. The image can be dragged around in the Panorama Editor to modify its perspective
