lots of answers here, but let me have my 2 cents worth as someone who does this on a daily basis. Yes there is a USB turntable, which you can also use as an interface for a cassette player – BUT this is relatively expensive and you probably don’t need it… Laptops are not ideal as they often only have a mono mic input (I found this out the hard-way!). If you find yourself in this situation, you will need a USB audio inteface (NB. of course the USB turntable does actually double as an audio interface, so may still be worth considering if you don’t have a stereo input to your laptop)- for both the above items take a look at my ‘accessories’ page: http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/DIY/accesso… Next, you will require a cable and some software – I use MAGIX AUDIO CLEANING for preference, but AUDACITY is free and very effective….
