Unfortunately, many users did not understand the cut and copy functions with reference points. Newer QCAD versions come with two versions of those tools, one with and one without reference point. The hotkeys are Ctrl-C, Ctrl-X (default, without reference point) and Ctrl-Shift-C, Ctrl-Shift-X (with reference point).
