How can I convince my mom to let me go Camping with friends?
Is this an unsupervised camping trip, or are your friends’ parents going to be there as well? The reason I ask is that I have a son who is almost sixteen and I also consider him very responsible, but I would probably not let him go camping alone with friends. Reason? An unsupervised camping trip is just like an unsupervised overnight at a friends house. If something happens to a person under the age of 18 and no adult is around to take responsibility for the situation it is considered child abuse/neglect on the part of the parents that let their children go unsupervised. Parents can actually get into legal trouble for this. I know that you are responsible and not planning on doing anything your parents would disapprove of, but accidents happen and no one can plan for them no matter how hard they try. It really has more to do with your mom’s responsibility to your well being than how much she trusts you. I am sure if you were to organize a supervised trip she would have no problem letti
