There are three pathways available to applicants eligible to convert to a Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate. The first requires an applicant to meet the following criteria: 1) holds or is eligible to hold a Professional Teaching Certificate valid for five years; 2) holds a master’s degree related to the public school program; 3) completes five years of educational experience (two of which must be within the endorsements area(s) listed on the certificate); 4) receives the recommendation of the superintendent for whom the educator is employed or last taught; 5) submits the application Form 4 available at http://wvde.state.wv.us/certification/forms/Form04.
