How can I connect my Ipod to my car CD stereo?
If you have an “aux” input jack in your cars stereo then yes you can. I think you can also connect it via USB if your stereo has that feature…..you just need the cable which you can buy at any audio store or department…if your car stereo doesnt have this feature you can buy a new car stereo or try one of the other suggestions. Another option is to buy an Ipod Dock and do it that way.
If your radio does not have a specific input for the iPod or an auxiliary input, I believe Belkin makes a universal iPod adapter which uses an FM band frequency on your radio to play your iPod. Please note – this will not allow you to control your iPod from your radio – ONLY play the music from your iPod through your car stereo. You will still need to control your iPod from the iPod. The piece is called a Belkin FM modulator for iPod if I remember correctly.
The easiest way I can think of is getting an FM Transmitter. How it works is the transmitter plugs into your iPod headphone jack, and is powered by your car’s cigarette lighter. The device sends off a weak radio signal. You choose the station on the transmitter, and then you go to the station using your stereo. (It needs to be a station that you car can’t receive) then you just pick the song, slow ride, and take it easy. It will run you anywhere from $20-$70, depending on the quality and the bargain.
