How can i connect 2 computers by using a network cable?

run the network wizard on both computers using set up a home network and set everything to automatically detect, and also set file sharing on. After that, you need to hit “windows key” and the pause button, then go to the computer name tab, and get the full computer name. You need a special “crossover cable” to connect the two together. Then connect them, and wait two minutes for the computers to time out. You are not using ip’s at this time, so the easiest way instead of assigning ip’s is to wait 2 minutes for the network to be created automatically (apipa.) go to start, run, then type in \\ computer name and hit enter. you will see what is shared in the computer. to share a folder, right click on a folder, and say share.
