The authors of Mosaic made the unfortunate decision to use Motif instead of one of the free widget sets. So if you want Mosaic, you can compile it yourself if you have Motif, or you can get a binary from someone who has already compiled it. There is another browser called chimera. It uses the Athena widget set, which is free and included as a standard part of X11 (but inexplicably left out of HP’s software releases). I use it all the time and like it a lot.
