A couple of things you can do. 1) If they own the building they operate from you can put a lean on the building and if they ever sell or try to get a second mortgage on it they will have to settle with you first. Your lean will show up in a title search. Work through your county sheriff and make sure it is recorded in the recorder’s office. 2) If they own any property such as a van or personal car (if the company is owned by them) put a lean on it. In some state you can actually seize propery until the settlement is paid. The laws vary from state to state, but your county sheriff’s office will know what you can do.
