To help keep the pages you have recently visited or searched for you can clear the address bar history. In Internet Explorer even if you clear address bar history manually, history file (index.dat file) that can’t be cleaned manually stores information which can show where you have been online. History file as it is used by Windows all the time. To clear address bar in Internet Explorer 7.0: Select “Tools” Select “Internet Options”. Open the “General” tab. In “Browsing history” area click the “Delete” button. To clear Address bar history, click “Delete history” and then click Yes. Click Close and then click OK. To clear address bar history in Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x: Go to Tools and select Internet Options. Open “General tab”, to clear Address bar history click “Clear history”. Click “OK”.
