How can I check that the Network Connection to the Original MTA is Working?
You can test if the network connection to the original MTA is working properly by opening a telnet connection to the MTA (default port 25) from the host running F-Secure Anti-Virus Agent for Internet Mail. If you get a textual response, it means that the network connection is working. If you get Connection to the host lost or any other error message, it means that the connection was unsuccessful.
