How can i check free annual credit report?

0

You can receive 3 free credit disclosures (one per agency) per year, as well as a free one within a month (or 60 days, I can’t recall which) of being declined for credit. The following site (annualcreditreport.com) is the only site that is approved as a centralized location to request your free report from all agencies. You can do so online, or by mail. Other supposedly “free credit report sites” will give you a report / score if you purchase services from them, so they aren’t really free. Requesting and receiving your credit report does NOT lower your credit score. It simply shows up on your credit report as a soft inquiry – which is not taken into account when organizations check your credit. When you apply for credit, the company/org does an inquiry into your credit report/score – and those inquiries DO lower your score – slightly.
