How can I calculate network usage for cost accounting purposes?

Many organizations these days are run as groups of ‘profit centers’ and charge users on a time or packets basis for access to a server. When a WAN is involved, this can be very hard to administer. The Traffic Monitor can collect statistics for Groups of devices and automatically calculate the bandwidth usage for each Group. To allocate nodes to Groups follow the steps below: Step 1: Run the Traffic Monitor. Step 2: Point the mouse cursor to the node that you want to add to a Group, click the right mouse button. Step 3: Select Edit. Step 4: Click on the down arrow beside the Group icon, or on the drop down list of names. Step 5: Click on the required Group, Step 6: Click OK. You have now allocated the node to the named Group.
