How can I calbrate the compass and when does it need to be calibrated?
The compass on the Lumi automatically calibrates itself with use, but it may need to be calibrated manually in the following circumstances: _The battery has been changed. _The service menu has been accessed. _The Lumi has been in the vicinity of a large amount of metal (e.g. an airplane). _The Lumi has been in contact with a magnet. _The Lumi has been in contact with a strong electro-magnetic field. _The compass has not been used in some time. To calibrate the compass enter compass mode then hold the Lumi level and start slowly rotating it. 3-4 full rotations should normally be enough to calibrate the compass but if the Lumi has been in contact with a magnet/magnetic field then you may find that it needs to be rotated a few more times. Keep rotating the Lumi until the compass reads correctly. NOTE: The compass on the Lumi will deactivate after 60 seconds of use and “Start Compass” will be displayed.
