There is a code (4 numbers) that you should have been given when you bought the car. Once you have this code you put the key in the drivers door lock and turn it the required number of times to the left then the number to the right etc. e.g. code of 2341 would be 2 left, 3right, 4 left and 1 right. once you have switched the immobiliser off it will not work until you get a new battery in the fob and use the central locking to lock the car. It’s much easier to get a new battery in the key fob and but you then need to press it until the on board transponder accepts it – perhaps a job for the dealer. If it is the battery you should have noticed that when you tried to lock the car it wouldn’t the first time but would if you tried again and the red lamp should have flashed twice. – that’s the sign that the battery is run down.
