How can I buy or print an EZ Dec Smartstamp?
Title companies will be invited to apply for Smartstamp printing capability before EZ Dec is implemented. More on this process will be communicated in the future via the EZ Dec pre-launch site. For title companies that shift from stamp machines to EZ Dec Smartstamps, the following will change: • Stamp machines will no longer be required to print city, county and/or state transfer tax stamps • Pre-loading of of stamp machines (e.g. pre-payment) will no longer be required • Smartstamps will be paid via wire-transfer at the end of each business day • Smartstamps will still be affixed to the deed or PTAX 203NR We are designing the smartstamp to print from commercial laser or inkjet printers on common label stock. For parties that do not have access to Smartstamp printing capabilities, Smartstamps can be purchased from Chicago City Hall or various Cook County locations where county and state stamps are purchased today.
