How can I borrow books at the Leiden University Library?
The closed stacks of the University Library contain more than 2,5 million books and magazines. To borrow these books and magazines, you first have to submit a request. This can be done through the Catalogue and can even be done from home. About one hour after you have placed your request your book will be ready for you in a locker, there you can pick it up. In addition to this many journal volumes are stored in the open journal stacks, which can be found at the bottom of the stairs next to the circulation desk. These magazines can also be borrowed.
