How can I bond two female rabbits?

0

Bonding can take a long time with some rabbits (can sometimes take a couple months to fully bond a difficult pair). If there’s no fighting, you will be successful, have patience and introduce them slowly. This is very normal behavior in the early stages. Tips and tricks to help the process along can be found here: http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/intro… Do not be surprised, however, if Kyra decides in a few months when Aunie is older that she is a threat (since Kyra is not spayed). If this happens, you need to separate immediately and have her spayed before trying to re-bond. It is unusual for an un-spayed female to accept a new female companion. Really, Kyra should be spayed anyway, since female rabbits that are not reproductively active have an 85% chance of developing some form of reproductive cancer by the age of 5. Spayed females live twice as long!
