I LOVE THIS QUESTION. You can lower your carbon footprint, gas use, gas expense by at least 20% by following this simple tip: DRIVE 55MPH on the freeway. Most cars are callibrated to be most efficient at 55MPH. I went from driving 65 to 55 and saw a 25% increase in my gas mileage (and therefore a 25% reduction in money spent at the pump.) One of my friends who was a speed demand said he saw a 50% reduction! So tell a friend: DRIVE 55. Can you believe how impactful it would be to reduce gas demand by 20% or more just like that? It’s sort of ludicrous that this isn’t being advocated for more, because it is so easy and so impactful.
