How can I become a professional race driver?
That all depends on what you mean with “Professional Race Driver”. If you mean race in Formula One or Formula Kart, don’t take it wrong but first you should go back in time. Most of the drivers on those Race Categories start racing at the age of 5 or 6 years old on Go-Carts. At the age of ten, they are already “professionals” in that level. After that is a long way career in different categories (depending on where you are, I mean America or Europe), and of course be very good and consistent. Only a 0.01% of drivers that start real young make it to the Formula. Then you have: 1st. Start early, 2nd. Be very good and 3rd. and last but certainly not least “have a daddy with a lot of money”. A set of tires for a Professional Go-Cart (the ones that run more than 60 miles per hour) cost $400 and you have to replace several sets in a year. I like the video…I believe stunt car drivers go through similar training…as well as some professional driving schools. I will say one thing though…street racing is definitely fun for a lot of people, but it is also VERY dangerous. One of the leading causes of deaths in the US is car crashes. Not only people pushing the envelope too far and killing themselves, but innocent people as well. Many racers think they know their limits, but they really don’t. Driving is unpredictable, even NASCAR and F1 drivers have fatal crashers…and their professionals. Speed is an addiction…it’s the adrenaline rush that makes you want more. Trust me I love racing and have a passion for cars, but you honestly have to know your limit and drive extremely safe. Not emphasizing what I just said but check out this cool video someone posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw_p1UykRZ8&NR=1 And honestly, I wouldn’t underestimate the F1 drivers. Some actually probably started off as street racers, but most
