While Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 run on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems today, we recommend upgrading to a 64-bit operating system to take advantage of 64-bit performance improvements in CS4 and to be ready for future releases that will run only on 64-bit operating systems. Most personal computers purchased since 2005 either are already running a 64-bit system or can be upgraded to one.
