How can I be involved in helping an employee that I’ve referred to the EAP?
Basically your role remains the same after the employee enters the program – supervising job performance. The best support you can give is to stick to what you do best: monitor performance, document errors or conduct issues, be consistent and confront the employee honestly. Do not miss an opportunity to praise good work. After the referral, be sure to maintain contact with the EAP counselor.
