How can I be awarded a higher priority band on medical grounds?
Priority for housing on medical grounds is considered by the Council’s Medical Advisor, who is a qualified G.P. S/he will consider the illness or disability as well as the effect of the current housing circumstances on the person’s health and quality of life. Priority will usually only be awarded where the current housing circumstances are having a detrimental effect upon the person’s health.
