How can I be assured that the cardholders information can be read by an unauthorized person who gets close to the card?
All RF data transmission between the card and reader is encrypted using a secure algorithm. By using industry standard encryption techniques, iCLASS reduces the risk of compromised data or duplicated cards. Access to data stored on the cards is protected by 64 bit diversified keys, which can be further customized by the end-user with an iCLASS programmer. Even if the unauthorized person obtains an iCLASS reader, without the keys, the reader will not authenticate with the card and data will not be transmitted. For even higher security, card data may also be protected with DES or triple DES encryption. With iCLASS, the transaction between the card and reader can not be sniffed.
