How can I automatically insert a signature line (like e.g. my phone number and address) at the end of my e-mails?
Mozilla / Thunderbird allows you to automatically add either a plain-text or HTML signature to the end of every email you send. To do that, you first have to create a text or HTML file (which can easily be done using Notepad or a similar text editor). Then, in Mozilla Mail, select Edit -> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings. For Thunderbird, select Tools -> Account Setting and select the name of your email account. In the preferences window that opens, click on the name of your account and check Attach this signature. Then all you need to do is click on Choose to tell Mozilla / Thunderbird where the signature file is. Please note that you can only specify one signature per account. In addition, if you use an HTML signature and send a message as plain-text, Mozilla / Thunderbird will automatically convert the signature to plain-text. If you want to attach a vCard (.vcf file) rather than a plain text or HTML signature (.txt or .html files) to your message, you can do that with Mozilla 1.6
